The Palm Drive Health Care Foundation was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. The primary mission of the Foundation was to take over operations of Palm Drive Hospital when it was threatened with closure. The Foundation raised over $1.5M and began managing the hospital when it was purchased by the 35 for Palm Drive in 1999. Since the Palm Drive Health Care District took over operations of Palm Drive Hospital in 2000, the Foundation has been the primary source of donated funds for the hospital. Through the generous support of our many donors, we are able to purchase hospital equipment, fund new programs, and support local health initiatives of all kinds. We are managed by a volunteer board of 15 community members and have one staff member. Board meetings are held once a month on the second Tuesday of the month and, except for closed sessions, are open to the public. No meetings are scheduled for August and December. |
